BigCorp specializes in research on objects that don't have proper names, and has a high proportion of very clever people working for them. For instance, Maxton Wonster received a Nobel Prize in physics for his contribution to the viscosity of widgets. Previously these were thought to be solid matter, but Maxton proved they are in fact made of water. Oddly no one had spotted this before.
